One Stop Shop for Business Licences

KELOWNA- Opening a business has become easier thanks to BizPaL, an online service that gives entrepreneurs a personalized list of permits and licences needed to establish and run their business.

"BizPaL is part of our government's Economic Action Plan which supports an innovative and entrepreneurial business environment," says Kelowna-Lake Country MP Cannan. "The Government of Canada is pleased to be working with the Province of British Columbia,  the Central Okanagan Regional District and West Kelowna to provide small businesses with easy access to important information to facilitate a more productive and competitive local economy."

“BizPaL is yet another example of this government’s commitment to streamlining processes and reducing red tape to make small businesses more successful,” says Westside-Kelowna MLA Ben Stewart.

“Small businesses employ thousands of British Columbians, so it’s critical that we support their development,” says Kelowna-Mission MLA Steve Thomson.

“Along with BizPaL, the elimination of small business tax will make our local businesses more competitive,” says Kelowna-Lake Country MLA Norm Letnick.

Entrepreneurs can use BizPaL to receive a personalized list of the permits and licences needed to establish and run their business. This unique partnership between federal, provincial, territorial, regional and local governments is designed to cut through the paperwork burden small businesses face.

“The District of West Kelowna is pleased to take part in this multi-governmental partnership. BizPal provides a one stop shop for businesses looking at West Kelowna as a place to call home,” says West Kelowna Mayor Doug Findlater.

Communities that are officially launching their BizPaL website include Central Okanagan Regional District and West Kelowna.

The BizPaL service was developed with the support of Industry Canada, in collaboration with municipalities and the Province of British Columbia. Area business owners and entrepreneurs can access the service by visiting their municipality’s website.

The Premier’s Innovation and Excellence Awards recognized the BizPaL program in the partnerships category. The goal is to make BizPaL available to all municipalities in British Columbia.
